The YeahTones
I found the YeahTones by hearing about them. They played with another of our featured artists, Street Clothes, at a show in Charleston, SC. Then they turned around and played at a local favorite bar: El Rocko. They've got a distinctly 70's tone and songwriting style that seems to fit their New York, New York base. I picked up songs, "What Could I Do?" "A Real Song" and "Want From Me." Check out the full album Eviction Notice below.
Shehehe
SHEHEHE are Savannah regulars. Hailing from Athens, Ga., the band has made the trip down to our beautiful city to play on many an occasion. The music here is unrelenting punk rock, with a poppy, fizzy, fun-loving goodness to the whole thing. I've got title track "Endless Summer" as well as "Sorry You Love Me" and the slower "Ramona Ray" in rotation. Download the full Endless Summer album below. It just released August 11, so it's still got that new album feel.

Rainwater
Rainwater's Swimming in Sunlight is sleepy, surreal, and beautifully orchestrated. I fell in love with the first track "Ditmars" and had to put it in the rotation. I also pulled "Dead Frogs" for the driving dance bass juxtaposed with heartbreaking female vocals. Buy the CD below from Furious Hooves Bandcamp.

I got some great news this week when I heard back from Furious Hooves, a kickass music curator/publisher/label. It seems I've got the go-ahead to add Furious Hooves discography to the rotation! --That's a lot of kickass tunes-- So check back here to see what artists on the Furhoof roster start rolling in.
You can learn more about Furhoof by clicking the picture below. Alright! Now let's get into the music. Horse culture
The first Furhoof artist to end up on Resumé Radio! Here's hoping it's a long and mutually beneficial relationship. The text descriptor of Horse Culture says "Southern Gothic Punk." This is noisy, crushy, cool shit. I pulled songs "House" and "Witchy" but there's plenty here to enjoy, give it a listen, buy the cassette.
A couple unsigned, or mostly independent artists also gave me the nod to use their music this week. Keep reading to check em out.
Electric Sensei
There's this one moment where Electric Sensei is switching between a Queens of The Stone Age groovy verse, and a System of a Down psycho chorus. What? This is cool. I'm looking forward to a full length from these guys.
Hale bopp astronauts
Found these guys by noticing they were playing a show here in Savannah, Ga. (where I live). They're unapologetically punk rock, and they said I could throw their tunes up on the station. I pulled "Nell Ombra", "Bull Street Inn", and "Emotional Ninja." Buy it below.
That's it for today. Don't forget. Catch these bands on tour by liking their Facebook Page, and by liking ours at Resumé Radio. |
